I can’t believe I’ve been back from Bali for almost nine weeks. It was a great summer to sit and relax and explore and write and work on my next plans.
I got this today from Daily Motivation. It made me think about how my siblings have read my books and tried to put me down, saying I’m not a great writer. I know I am not a Dickens or a Tolkien! But I’ve done it – 3 published on Amazon and four more on the way. It seems my worst critics are English teachers – I think they all want to be writers but never get round to it and it annoys them that someone who teaches Maths and Physics has actually done it…
“Don’t internalize others’ opinions.
They can plant doubt and distort how you see yourself.
Build a sense of self-worth so strong that nothing outside of you can make you doubt yourself or downplay your achievements.

Let people say what they want.
Treat their opinions as noise you can filter through, so you can stay rooted in what truly matters to you.
You know how much strength and courage it has taken to get where you are.
You’ve given your best, even through the darkest periods of your life.
That courage is something no one can take away from you.
Honour it over the biased opinions of others.“
